But... you also have curtains for decorating purposes, and removing unwanted echoes! Not just to keep people from peering in.

Haha yeah... and to me, windows without curtains feel kinda naked. And it doesn't matter if nobody can see inside anyway; it would still feel awkward (especially at night). So yeah, I'd need to have at least something to cover, and also to keep the light out (the sun in summertime when it might get too hot inside otherwise, and other light (street lights, moonlight, sunlight, light from cars etc) during night/early morning (especially in the sleeping rooms) when you want to sleep. That usually means shutters + curtains here. Aaaaanyway; eventually it's up to you (CC), haha. It's not like it's me who's living there! ^^
