Currently on a Simon R Green kick, "The Nightside" series is fun as is "The Secret History" series.

Also recommend Peter V Brett's "Demon Cycle", very good series which at times reminds me of  "The Runelords" (David Farland).

If you have a Kindle, the "Spinward Fringe" (Randolf Lalond) is worth a punt, cheap to purchase as well.

I started reading Consider Phlebas by Ian Banks, and I'm loving it. People claims the next books in the series are even better, so I'm looking forward to finishing it and moving on to the next.

Finished both "Consider Phlebas" and "The Player of Games", and really enjoyed both (although, if I have to chose, "The Player of Games" was indeed a bit better). Moved on to "Use of Weapons" now, although I'm thinking about taking a small break from SF and reading something else first.

Im going to go ahead and guess no one is reading the same books as me. Currently working my way through Crime and punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Other than that i recommend 1984 by George Orwell, Catcher in the rye by J.D Salinger or perhaps The divine comedy by Dante Alighieri. The last one is a challenge to finish though ^^ But rewarding in it's own way. Makes you think. But like i said, doubt anyone reads the same books as me

You mentioned 3 titles pretty much half the world has read already. I'm not even literature-minded, and I have both 1984, Catcher in the Rye and the Divina Commedia on my bookshelf. Never did get around to actually reading Dante's work yet, but I will, eventually Haven't gotten around to reading anything from Dostoyevsky just yet, but I'll most likely bump into one of his books in the future. He's on my infinitely long list of "stuff to read".

Ah perhaps i should have been more clear, i am very well aware of the fact that those books are being read by a lot of people. What i meant though, i dont think that many people read them by choice and has classics as their favorites. Most people seem to go for popculture books, while i only read classics. But then again, i'm just guessing here

*Clears throat* As someone who finished their compulsory literature education (and not a second more) about 4 years ago, I'll say that I've read none of these books. We seemed much more focused on classic English literature, e.g. Pride and Prejudice.

Recently finished the great, but unfortunately, last volume of "The Wheel of Time" by R. Jordan followed by the very cool "Mistborn" trilogy by B. Sanderson, currently reading Game of Thrones series and I have two other books in parallel, Ovid's "Metamorphosis" (English translation, did translate most of it from Latin into Dutch when for my highschool graduation, but thats too long ago for me to read the original ) and also various works by Carl Jung, think currently one about his psychological theories on the interpretation of dreams.

Also recommended: Night Watch, Day Watch, Twilight Watch and Last Watch all by Sergei Lukyanenko, also recommend the movies, but do watch the russian one with subtitles in your own language, better that way and many more which I won't put here because my finger is already getting tired
