So i'm a big dork for animals. I wonder if anyone would share pics of their pets? :)
Here are my two cats, Spike and Oz ^_^

If I were a cat, I'd be pretty terrified from you aswell. ^^
Also, I am currently petless, my dog passed away almost a year ago now :)

This is my mom's dog. Which I count as "my pet" even if they live far away.
at one point we had 4 dogs at the same time, but this is the only one we have left. 4 years ago we had to put 2 asleep within a months time. :(

These are the muppets, hiding in the bathtub. Tristan (whiny, slightly mentally challenged, but cute and cuddly) in the front and Zoei (acrobatic, eats cords, hates me) in the back.

Edit: I realized you can even see in her eyes how much she hates me...

All so cute :3 Thank you for sharing :D

My latest addition, a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula :afro:
It's only 6cm atm, but it can grow up to a 15 cm legspan. I haven't named it yet though, since I don't know its gender yet (which can be determined once it gets bigger).
... I hope no one here has an arachnophobia :>

Molly - She always looks annoyed when photos are taken, so I try to take as many as possible ;D

Harry - I think he should have been born a dog, he has no grace and will fall off anything
-
And here I am.. Allergic to cats.. :(
-
I am more a dog person, but my ex wasn't and wanted cats. I feel for my two and wouldn't give them up. Though If I could get a dog I would.
I got to say as well no no no no no no no no no no no to any spiders

Jesus, i wasn't expecting a Tarantula... actually i find it pretty, but I don't know if I could have a pet spider/bug. They have to live inside a little cage, it must suck for them.
I've never had any pets living with me in my house, I don't see the point of having a pet, although a cat wouldn't be that bad

Glad you all like my tarantula :D

Tarantulas are really easy to take care of actually, they only need to eat about twice a week. They're happy as long as they have their water, food, and shelter. They don't move around much so they don't require much space anyway, if their enclosure is too big they'll have trouble finding their food :P

Well, I've got arachnophobia, and I might kill anyone who thinks it's funny to throw a spider at me or something like that. Not willingly, but as an action of self-defense while being in a state of irrational panic. ;)
Although it has gotten better over the years, and this picture actually didn't bother me at all. There are actually some (really, really small) spiders I even consider to be kinda cute. And I would never want someone to kill a spider (bring it far away somewhere outside instead). After all, it's not the spider's fault that I've got that irrational fear. I just wouldn't want to touch your pet. Or sleep in the same room. ^^

Somehow I'm sure that must have looked really cute. ;D

My 2nd tarantula, Miep (pronounced "Meep") :D

I kinda regret clicking on this thread... lol
I do not get why people like tarantulas, If I ever came face to face with one i'd probably have a heart attack...
Stranger, you ever had one escape?

Hahah, I think they're cute in their own kind of way.
I used to think they were creepy as well, but after reading some stuff about them on the internet they started to fascinate me.
I happened to find out they were the ideal pet for me, low maintenace, comparable to hardy plants, really. You only need to provide them with fresh water every few days, feed them every week or so, dont require a lot of space and they leave no unpleasant odours at all. Not to mention it's always a fun topic to talk about when people ask about my hobbies.
Some species have awesome colouration (http://imgur.com/a/pdaXv) (warning for arachnophobes, link contains spider pictures :P), and there and many enthousiasts who keep them as a hobby. A woman who works at my local petshop has over 50 tarantulas and also breeds them :>
About escaping, nah, I generally go for more slow-moving species.
Henry, my other tarantula, got a bit adventurous once while I was changing his waterdish and casually wandered out of his enclosure. I quickly scooped him up with my hand and guided him back while he was clumsily trying to balance himself on the palm of my hand. Nothing to worry about since he doesn't have a defensive temper, and even if he would bite, the damage would be comparable to a bee sting.

Imagine waking up with that thing on your face. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.... NOPE
