Cool! :)

Also, what are you researching? I'm asking since you've said "work and research"... sounds like you're researching something that's not work-related.

Oh, and it's not like I want to invade/stalk/investigate/whatever your real life or something. It's just that you're writing about it and I'm curious. And after all... a forum lives through conversations! ^^

actually the research is/was work related  ^_^
I've been busy configuring a smart process application, which is a new category of software that provides
(1) an essential link between input such as paper/fax/email/scanner/mfp/smartphone/XML/data stream and enterprise applications such as ERP/CRM/ECM/Database, or
(2) ways in which customers interact with an organization. These input streams include face-to-face interactions in branch offices, web portals, mobile apps and social media. All accessible via web applications, no extra local software installation required (apart form web browser).
It's fun, it's big, still a lot to learn/discover.. and I don't have time for it during the day (normal working hours)  ^_^ Still... my short term goal is to pass the first developers exam for this and get certified first week of March  :)

At least that sounds more fun then the paper I am currently writing on Niccolo Machiavelli and Thomas Hobbes :P

Set a man on fire and you'll warm him for the rest of his life.

@Cao Cao: Nice. Good luck! :)

@Kaladin: Oh wow, I've actually heard of Machiavelli before... but only because he's one of the characters in Assassin's Creed. :D

Good night, and sleep well! ;)

@Airwolf: Lol. It's actually funny... I've once seen something (I don't remember anymore if it was a movie or an episode of some TV-series) that played in Venice, and at some point I suddenly was like "I know this place!" because I've remembered it from Assassins Creed xD. Turned out that I actually got the name of the bridge right, haha. Also, I've looked up Monteriggioni, and I've seen pictures that felt so very familiar... they've really done a very good job with this game. ^^

I love to read the building/location notes they give you once you discovered a place, as those are true to history. Same with some of the characters that are from known history. (minus the interactions with the assassins though)

O and forget the alien part. they will not like to hear that in history class.
(bring that to history channel)

Haha. :D

I really liked to read those infos too. It got a bit annoying sometimes in AC 3, though. Can't talk about AC 4, as I didn't bother to buy that yet (AC 3 was okay, but not nearly as good as it could have been, compared to the Ezio-trilogy).

exact same here on that side. AC 2 was fun, have AC 3 but did not like it as much and with AC 4... it just stoped interesting me as much gameplay wise. Remove the history part and whats left is the same experience. not saying that they need to change the gameplay either. but just stop pumping out these empty shells that is the current direction of the AC line

There was a rumor they were going to feudal japan, which could've been fun, but Ubisoft already denied it :(

Indeed. The story about Ezio, his family and also the additional infos about Altair... all that had so much depth, and the different characters also were nicely made. Gameplay was interesting. Also, VERY awesome dialogues. In AC3, there are some nice parts in the story, some not so nice. Many parts of the sidestory sometimes felt a bit like a chore to do, even though they are kinda nice... but not as captivating. In terms of gameplay, there are parts that feel like they were just being thrown in for the sake of it, without having any use at all. I mean, all the crafting for example, or the hunting. If you need money, just sell the stuff that the huntress produces and you'll be rich in no time xD. The sea-battles are nice. And well, that's about it. And then well... I really wonder how the story goes on with Juno being freed. But as far as I know, they don't tell you much in AC4.

Hmmmhmm. I should replay the Ezio-trilogy at some point. I'm kinda occupied with GW2 and watching TV-series online currently, though.

Now uhm... after my review of the past AC-titles... I guess no guildmissions until second week of march? ^^

Edit:

Oh, Japan... that would have been nice. Didn't hear of that rumour. That being said, Switzerland (dunno exactly around which time, though) would be awesome! ;D

That reminds me... the Swiss Guard in one mission of the Ezio-trilogoy had (at least in the german version) a VERY stereotypical, but also very funny, swiss dialect. XD One of the funniest missions imo. Another one would be the mission where you take back that town and the lady whose children have been taken as hostages (I don't remember any names right now) swears at the guards like no tomorrow. :D

Lets just say that I think they would be a bit too lazy to do a game that is so different in style of the setting that they would just not bother with that. The game-play already suffers from that at least. As After all this time there are still too many things that make no sense and are not thought through. like, kill a eye witness in front of a guard and suddenly he does not notice you anymore while people around you are screaming in panic XD

Also, yes, I think i also need to replay the Ezio-trilogy. Starting from the baby birth QTE... (weirdest control tutorial EVER!)
