Thanks for the birthday messages. Just a quick thing about Rezzed, the new WvW map looks great and the new PvP mode is so fun and good call back to GW1. We did the guild proud by having the fasted win of the whole event.

@CC: Cool! :)

@rezzed: Hehe, awesome! :) Some people at the official forums are kinda sceptic about the new map, though. Like, many claim it's just a slight variation of EotM. Also, I wonder how long it will take until the current maps will be part of the rotation.

Hmmhmmm; last night I've stumbled over the info that apparently there will be a solar eclipse on friday morning this week. Now if only I knew where I can get solar eclipse glasses...

Either they didn't go to the dev talk or they heard something different from me. Yes it is a desert theme like EotM, but has so much.
The 3 main keeps are elemental themed - air, earth (asura one) and fire (which is underground). A lot more emphasis on defense now as the all have shrines that give powerful buffs, for example the air one, if you hold all 3 shrines you get no fall damage in that area, fire gives full fire immunity and earth gives a sandstorm that with stealth all allies in it. There is also a meta event in the middle of the map that happens every 3 hours. Its a massive laser cannon that if you get it will fire a adam at ALL keeps and towers you don't control. They have also given defenders more help at main gates creating kill boxes as they call then.
Also the lords now will play a bigger part in battles and all have varied attacks and defences.
They are adding in a new siege weapon that is more defence and support.
I asked the main dev about EotM and if they will swap out maps, pay the current one, which is now called the alpine map with the desert section of mists. He thought it was a good idea and not something they had thought of.
The main thing I really took from the WvW talk was there is a lot more for small teams to do and that in zergs some things will be harder.
Guess some will moan no matter what people do xD

You can watch the presentation from Rezzed, in replay at http://www.twitch.tv/egx/b/636785081.

Starting at about 22m06s.

Of course, we who didn't attend, still missed out on personal chatter with the developers.

What is on your "bucket-list"?
Sell my apartment so I can finally buy that bigger house for my family.
Buy equipment for my own (martial arts) sports training room once previous point is achieved.
Configure & sort music/movie collection for on-demand wireless playback.
Spend more time reading. (preferably English books)

To help with the spend more time reading. I've recently started reading a book called 'Ready player one', I really suggest it, since being into mmos.

To put it's description into one little blunt sentence: Its about someone on a quest to find a hidden Easter egg in a virtual game that would make him a billionaire. Really well done and full of 80s references.

** these are the three things that really got me interested in the new maps and will make me play a lot more wvw. Because they add a lot more for players that don't really want to zerg so much. You can defend easier with a small group. You can go for shrines and things. The Lord's will create much more fun battles especially for smaller groups.

#This is the one thing I think could be good or could be bad but will have to wait and see.

Love the look of the map though with lots of distinct areas and themes and narrow passageways etc

Just read the link. I'm curious as to what is like in PvP lol. Sucks tho I really wanted to play when I get home. I'll still give it a try, tho part of me is wandering if I shouldn't so I don't download latest patch....

Here's another thread concerning the issue; basically a compilation of all the bugs that were reported:

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/bugs/Bugs-from-16th-Patch

There's also a thing with Mesmer Blink that it now doesn't go on cooldown anymore if you can't blink to a location... like it should be now... except if you trait for 1200 range, in which case it still goes on cooldown lol.

Meh; and I wanted to do some stuff ingame tonight. Gonna have to wait until tomorrow I guess. On a sidenote... tweet from 4 hours ago:

Thanks for giving us a heads-up on some of these bugs, Tyrians. We're aware and working on them. ~RB2

Mwahahahahaha!

So I've just digged through the boxes in my basement, and guess what I've found... my solar eclipse glasses from 1999! =D

Was so hoping I'd still find them, because I want to watch the solar eclipse tomorrow, and for some reason you can't get them anywhere. Like, one of the opticians who I've visited to see if they sell them told me, that apparently there are only very few producers... and they didn't actually produce many of those glasses to begin with. Why that is, is beyond me. But hey! Sometimes it pays off to not throw stuff away! =D

(Now if I would actually have done so/remembered to do so when we've had that Venus transition... uff... too bad. Would surely have been nice to watch that as well.)

Talking about all the bugs, but lets not forget cool features they (finally) added that i love,
like guild chat not getting deleted when swapping characters, or when you represent a different guild for a while, and swap back, you'll see the history of it.

Oh; cool! :)

Didn't even know/realize that (yet). But definitely a big (and wanted) improvement! :)
