I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the girl iwho presents this video used to be in the GW1 DW division.

Seems we need to use ts.vikingsonshrooms.com from now on. Miraxes decided that fsp.teamspeak.de should be the new server for WvW and thus he redirected the ts.farshiverpeaks.com to that one instead.

What surprises me in GoT is why the whole series are about fails? Everyone fails in everything one way or another and it's constantly depressing. I had hopes for Tyrion, but in the end his father no less than betrayed him.

Even Ned Stark's bastard is a traitor after all.

Honour and virtue? Nah, wrong movie.

What's really curious is why so many people like it. Considering what it is.
Good-bye, and hello.

It's gonna be hard to stick to my "I'm gonna wait till the season's over and watch it all"-idea with all that GoT-craze going on.

Still, I really hope the ever increasing popularity of his books pushes Mr. Martin to work a bit harder on The Winds of Winter.

after watching last night's episode I'll probably do this now. ::)

Having read the books, but not seen the series past season 1, I might be talking about a different storyline, but:

SPOILER AHEAD (select text to read it)

Not everyone fails, surely, some adventures don't really get the end the character was aiming for, but as long as they're alive, that hardly means they failed. Martin is a very "plot-twisty" writer, and you'll see as the story develops that both examples you named (Tyrion and Snow) make a turn for the better later on in the story (and then again for the worse). It's a rollercoaster ride: you cannot have highs without the lows.

I enjoy the song of ice and fire series because they're well-written (especially the first books), and do have certain controversial plot twists. I didn't like everything that happened, but then again, that almost always happens. What keeps me reading is the curiosity to know how it will end for my favourite characters.

Does this forum actually have a spoiler tag?

Yes you can. It's called having principles and honour and sticking to them no matter what. If you're a traitor, you're a traitor, even if later it turns out you can help the ones you betrayed.

Movies where characters are both good and bad are realistic, true, but what's the point of showing all the dirtiness of real life in works of art when you can just grab a newspaper and read the headlines? Fiction is good because it shows things could be better and makes people aim at being better in life, and yes, movies do affect real-life because, piece by piece, it forms the picture of the world in really large quantities of the population. It's like ... your grandfather was a war hero but yeah, in his youth he used to be a drug addict and convicted for assault. What will you tell your children? Obviously the good stuff, because, biologically, learning by example is the strongest mechanism in children's development. With movies it's the same, on the bigger scale.

And even if mass media shouldn't be biased and hide the horrible stuff that happens in real life and you look at the newspapers and think "FFS, the world out there is crazy", then at least the artficial stuff we create in the movies should bring LIGHT into people's lives. ;)

Don't you think?

Anyway, I'm afraid I'm bringing up too serious stuff for a casual guild chat and I probably should shut up.
Good-bye, and hello.
