"Defiance is a multi-platform shooter MMO currently in development by Trion Worlds and, in a groundbreaking merger, the Syfy Network, in a bid to bring the intense nature of the third-person shooter together with the "persistence, scale and customization" of an MMO. Defiance will unite the platforms across PC, XBox 360 and Playstation 3 in 2012."
I've been following the development of this game since I first heard of it ages ago. It's developed by Trion Worlds, the creators of Rift, which is a very popular mmorpg. It's a big budget game and it also is doing a few uncommon or even new things. It's an MMO shooter. There is no tab targetting, or targetting or any kind. It is mainly open world, it has open world pvp, instanced pvp, clan vs clan warfare, clanwide bonuses etc. It's also a pixel perfect shooter, which is really rare for an open world mmo. It does have some pvp and pve instances aswell, but it's mainly open world.
It was also developed from day 1 to be interconnected with a TV series, that Syfy is developing. The game and the show have a story that effect each other back and fourth and allows the players to be a part of it. The TV series is the highest budget Syfy ever put into a series, even more than they spent on Battlestar Galactica.
The game itself, has a cost running over 80+ million dollars to date, which is a lot more than they spent on Rift.

It's extremely polished and feels very nice to play, they've got the FPS shooter part of it just right in my opinion.
I'll certainly be playing this at launch which is just 3 months away now. Just thought I'd see if there's much interest, if there is it could be worth creating a clan there.
