Oh wow, I'm necro-ing. It's still on top, though. :P

21 Reasons to be Interested in The Elder Scrolls Online ~ShoddyCast~

I do think that it will probably be extremely awesome. But I also fear that I will be at war with myself to decide what I'm playing... GW2 or ESO. I'm not sure if I'll be able to manage playing both. Though, I'd like to. Uff. So somehow, I secretely hope it takes another year until ESO comes out, just so I don't have to think about difficult stuff like this. xD ^^

Not even mentioning that I still need to finally play Skyrim "through"... well, at least all the quests (including the main quest/s) I'd like to do and stuff.

So uhm, this topic was kinda abandoned here, but I guess some of you are still interested in it?

When they announced that it would be ported to console I kind of lost interest.

So, are they not making it available for PC players at some point in the future?  >:(  I've not been around lately cos I've actually been playing Skyrim - didn't much like the ball and chain relationship with Steam, but this is even worse.

Wow what? Where did you hear that the PC is not the main plataform?
I'm pretty sure the game is for PC, and then there is a a PS4 and XBOX1 console port.
Not making the PC the main plataform is madness, I mean, this is TES, it's a frickin PC game!

Couldn't agree more.  I've been with TES since Baldur's Gate.  :-[ My bad though - I didn't read Mal's comment properly before hitting ten thousand feet.  See: http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2013/06/10/eso-on-next-gen-consoles-and-new-gameplay-trailer.  It's on PS4 and Xbox1 as well as PC and Mac.

I did not say that it would not be available for PC, but the fact that you will get it for consoles will make gameplay on the computer worse then it could be. After all you need to dum down the controls so they fit with console controllers.

Though TES online do say that the game will be on different servers for PC and console gamers, so a PC gamer will never meet an Xbox player..

Yupp yupp. Xbox-players will only be able to play with other Xbox-players, and PS4-players will also only play together with other people who play it on PS4. Just PC and Mac will play together.

Also, there's apparently gonna be a subscrition fee of around 15 dollars each month; starting after the first month after you've activated your account.

Also, I don't really see why controls would need to be dumbed down. Take Skyrim as an example... you've got more hotkeys on PC than on console; on the other hand lockpicking is a bit harder on PC since you can't control the speed with which the lock rotates. I don't really feel like the controls of Skyrim are dumber than those of Guild Wars 2.

The elder scrolls till now have 1 mayor fault in my opinion related to pc vs console. The controls in the standard menu are aweful on pc and a lot is lacking in the inventory that a inventory should have in a game like that on pc.

You yust know that that was done for the consoles.

Though you would have mods in the single player tes games. they really need something better for the pc in tes online.
Spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace!!! Just sayin'

I agree. Well, they did say something like that while mods won't be possible in the beginning, they might make it possible for people to make (and use) UI-mods for example. Nothing written in stone yet, though. It's just a possibility.

This is exactly my point. If you make a game playable on a console the result is a dummed down version of what it could have been for a PC, in the end it does not matter if they created it as a PC exclusive game to begin with, the PC version will still be playable like a cheap console port.

Hm, I just can't get to like the fact that it will be subscription based. It would make me feel forced to play.
