Wei, Excom, Curin and me were in WvW heading to a camp we were supposed to cap. Me and exco got sidetracked by 3 candy ores, while Wei and Curin got to the camp in time. Subsequently, Wei (Curin too?) died, while me and Exco were busy swinging picks on that candy candy candy and reached the camp too late. Wei got a little annoyed, and did warn us we should stop pulling shi* like that in the future. Sorry Wei, but I actually lol-ed at how dumb I turned out by going for that sweetz. My best tip is when in WvW, in a small team of 5, do the "direct oposite" of what whoever is commanding says. Do it for the sole reason to distract the enemy zerg. :)

Hmmmm, so my dad left for his conference, but at least he informed me that there was something wrong with the houses central heating system before he left yesterday (good thing there aren't fucking -8 degrees outside right now /irony). First thing that happened this morning was my brother getting violently sick on the kitchen floor. Had to cancel his dentist appointment. Then the contractor my dad hired to do some work in the cellar came today, and he did find a wet spot in the corner of a wall in the room where he was working.

I'm excited to announce MYSTathon, a 24 hour game-a-thon in Guild Wars 2 and DOTA2 to raise money for Child’s Play from 10am GMT on 22nd December by members of the Mystic Spiral [MYST] gaming community. We’ll be pitting our wits against the games and each other, knocking up at least 200 hours of gaming between our members in our first solo charity event. We're hoping to raise £1337 by being entertaining (read: we fail a lot) and with your help we'll reach our goal!

Why?
Because after 6 years of gaming together it is time for us to come together to do something that has wide ranging positive effects. We've had some involvement in events like Pink Day in LA (we helped to host on Aurora Glade), but this will be our first time attempting something on our own. We're raising money for Child's Play because of the wonderful work they do improving the lives of children in hospitals worldwide. By supplying hospitals with age appropriate gaming equipment, they allow children to take a break from the reality of their situation through a medium that we all enjoy on a daily basis.
We’re hoping to raise at least £1337 and with your help we'll get there!
What we'll be doing and when
From 10 am on 22nd December until 10am on 23rd December we'll be playing Guild Wars and DOTA2, clocking up over 200 hours of gaming between 11 of our members. In Guild Wars 2 we'll cover nearly every aspect of the game, showing off (or failing at) dungeons, WvW, world bosses, jumping puzzles, sPvP, Wintersday and much more besides. There's a full schedule of what content we'll be doing when on our website (http://www.mysticspiral.co.uk/charity/)
You'll be able to keep up with the action on our website through 3 live streams and on Twitter. You'll also be able to vote on what we do in game and there will be opportunities for people to join our parties live*.
And of course we have our prize draws and give-aways. Donating $10 or more will enter you into prize draws (there are 3 different pools of prizes) and tune in for more live give-aways for both games. More details are available on our website.

I never really had to actually get any references. My resume listed my previous employer, and the projects I've worked on, and that was more than enough to land me an interview. Once you get that first interview, the rest is just talking talking talking :PNot here, here they check your references after you have been at the interview :P

It's a lot easier to just randomly go to a restaurant throughout the year. Or if you're really into special dates: the day you're together for x amount of months/years/decennia. It's a lot less "forced" and at least you don't have to make reservations months in advance. :DI agree 100%

An interesting fact is that if you try reading LotR in the swedish edition translated by a man named Ohlmarks, you don't actually read LotR... He "interpreted it" and changed quite a lot. Ohlmarks was part of the reason the "Guide to the Names in The Lord of the Rings" was published.

IPredator is pretty good as VPN.I have been monitoring my connection to the server for the past 2 days and it is 2-3 nodes, always the same that seem to have gigantic percentages of packet loss. Thats why I was thinking of using a VPN to get another route to the servers. Also this problem seems to mainly be a problem with GW2 as other online games work fine.
Have you called your ISP yet? I worked at two ISP's as an underpayed tech support slave, and usually lag is due to the mechanic not wiring the splitters in the correct way, or corroded cables. In some cases, the wrong modem is installed for the type of connection. It's also common that the neighbourhood end point decided to give your connection low priority for no apparent reason.
Also I have not set up any guild missions this week since I dont know if I will be able to lead them.Maybe Stranger or any of the senior members can start them this week? I'm not gonna be around much because of this week's work schedule (2x belgium, 1x germany, 1x northern netherlands). yes and no. It wasn't as much about Shakespeare himself as any the two plays we had spent 8-10 weeks reading and analyzing bit by bit. But yeah, me and my friend spent a lot of energy studying for it. I'm proud of our results. Nice to feel that hard work paid off. exact same here on that side. AC 2 was fun, have AC 3 but did not like it as much and with AC 4... it just stoped interesting me as much gameplay wise. Remove the history part and whats left is the same experience. not saying that they need to change the gameplay either. but just stop pumping out these empty shells that is the current direction of the AC line
Lets just say that I think they would be a bit too lazy to do a game that is so different in style of the setting that they would just not bother with that. Growing up we always went skiing over easter, let me tell you it wasn't WARM by any stretch of the imagination, that far up in the country and then also the altitude. :P

So while napping I woke up in what really felt like a drunken haze, you know before all those sleep hormones clear out you brain. Somehow I had an epiphany, which I can't describe in words as much as my entire being is craving that I just put it into action, starting right now.

Started a spontaneous game of hide-and-seek in Divinity's Reach (or rather, a game of "hide Asha, the pasty Sylvari-and-let the others seek"). It was really fun seeing people run around looking for me, while giving out the clues via guild chat/TS. The game went on for over an hour, with several different hiding places ^_^Reminds me of the weekly hunt event (lottery) I held in gw1. Good rewards for the no.1-3 who found me in an outpost after I'd posted a selfie of me in that area :)

I wonder... if you say he's your boss, I guess you're talking about the pirate party (so the pirate party and the pirate bay website are actually directly connected... didn't really know that). What I wonder is, how did he try to get into the european parliament for the finnish pirate party, if he's your boss (meaning he's swedish and in the swedish pirate party)? Netherlands-Mexico.. Dull play by the Dutch and here I thought they'd return home finally.. Mexico in the lead until the 88th min and then it's the Dutch who made it to the next round. (Probably vs Costa Rica) :0
But it really looked like the Dutch team is (almost) nothing without Robben. It was (almost) always him, when it got even just remotely dangerous for the Mexicans. Without him, you'd prolly have had the impression that the Netherlands aren't even trying. ^^He does fall and complain often yes.. The team consists of a lot of new players and only a few seasoned players. Almost the whole backline is new.. I'm really surprised they've managed to hold out thus far ^_^

Yeah, the match yesterday was quite cruel; especially for the fans. There are already A LOT of different memes about it, with the best ones being a picture of a showering-room (a room with multiple showers like in gyms for example) where a guy (with german flag) is working the ass of another guy (brazilian flag) with an air-hammer, while a third guy (dutch flag) is waiting a bit behind them; and the other one being BRAZIL... but written upside down and from left to right, with the L and the I being replacer by 7 1. Too lazy to look for those pics now. ^^

The feeling after being on a boat for 3 weeks and getting a real bathroom / shower was much better though.
I have a hard time getting a good night's sleep in other beds than my own (if not extremely exhausted). For example, when I met up with Maloki, I woke up after only 3(ish) hours of sleep ::)
beds are overrated... on holiday even the hot concrete slabs next to the swimming pool felt more comfortable to lie down on than the silly soft beds outside ^_^

The pic of the pile of food almost made me believe u pillaged a bakery :) how is it free food?Basically we go to a store, find their dumpster, loot it after hours for food that's still edible. There's a huge food waste, and distribution problem in our society. My friend identifies as a Freegan, which basically means that she will live off food that others discard to leave as small a footprint on the environment as she possibly can.

Here in the Netherlands u can almost always pay with bank card so for us it's normal to carry little amounts of cash with us

yeah.. it's frustrating when you're unable to solve a big technical issue at customer on site when you know it should be solved in one afternoon because there's a huge to-do list piled up and only a few (pre-paid) project days remaining.
another thing that bothered me today is that something that initially wasn't agreed upon can suddenly be a project blocking issue.. the recognition of document data in all European languages, Arabic and Russian instead of just the ones I've configured (being NL/UK/DE/FR/IT/ES) Sure... it's possible and I can make it happen.. just not in 2 days ???

Last night my game client crashed yet again after trying to right click on a fractal spoon. ??? The game probably thinks it's impossible for this fractal noob to have one. ::)

So... funny story... I logged into Steam (cause I wanted to play some Skyrim), saw a nice advertisement graphic of the game "Ancient Space", wondered what kind of game it is and bothered Google with it. Then I've read a comment "it's not a new Homeworld", so I've checked out what kind of game Homeworld is. I then though "that sounds nice" and checked the onlineshop where I usually buy games (if I do buy some, that is) to see if they have it, how much it would cost and if there are some customer reviews. There's a game called "Hyrule Warriors" on the frontpage, and it says it's a mix of Legend of Zelda and... so I clicked it cause I'm a curious guy and wanted to know what the other part of the mix is. So then I read part of a sentence that goes like "and then you use mighty attacks in the style of Dynasty Warriors" and I'm like "hold on... Dynasty Warriors? Is that a game?", so I do a little search in the shop and find out that it's apparently a game series (with at least 8 games; probably more) and it's about those ancient kingdoms and stuff. o.o
I didn't even know that. I thought it's a name you've made up and that you maybe just have a thing for ancient chinese history xD. Also, I thought I've once read something about a link to Dungeons and Dragons, and the only thing I could find about that is a game I've actually played with a friend on his Xbox (there are two games) which is some kind of a fantasy action-rpg and has nothing to do with China at all. Uploading to youtube is always such a pain in duration ..Yupp... took me around 5 hours. Afterwards, it took like 15-20 minutes to become available in 360p. A couple minutes later, 480p was up too and then another 10 minutes later or so, HD-resolutions haha.

Couldn't resist shopping at the outlet when they announced a Black Friday sale..everything is ridiculously expensive in the Netherlands compared to here. Bought a couple of Tommy Hilfiger sweaters, Levi & Calvin Klein trousers, toys from the Disney store and stuff from fragrance outlet for such low prices we could only dream of back home. Our own outlets come close but are still more expensive.

Drinking fresh coffee at home doesn't differ much from drinking it at work.. When you've just made it it's still too hot to drink so you wait and continue doing something else. After a while you realize that cup of cold coffee was yours -_-And then one proceeds to drink the cold coffee, because it would be a waste not to, and being too stubborn to make a new pot. During all of this, one also makes funny faces, because cold coffee really isn't that awesome...

Just found a place that accepts hair donations, that I can actually go to, instead of just sending it off in a letter! ^_^ As many of you know, I've been counting down to when it'll be long enough to get rid of... Turns out, I can do it straight away if I want to (without going bald xD). So, now it's just a patience game, where I can see how long it lasts :D

Huh; what? Hair donations are a thing outside of uhm, places like India or so? And uhm... are you intending to go for a short-hair hairstyle? o.oEuropean hair is rather uncommon to be donated, but really needed to make wigs (for example for kids with illnesses causing them to lose hair). At the moment, they import a lot of hair, even though it is an easy resource. Most aren't even aware that you can donate real hair to wig makers. They then often deduct the amount it would have cost to instead buy the donated hair, from the final price of the wig, making it cheaper to buy for the person needing it. The difference between a synthetic wig and one made out of real hair is huge, not only in how it looks and feels, but also in how long it'll last and what you can do with it.
And obviously it'll be short again ;)
In a couple of years (or 3, realistically), I can do it all over again. It's just hair, so it's far easier than donating blood or bone marrow :P

So I pretty much gotta find a weekend job and work every day without a rest day. I'm pretty sure the politicians were high that day. Now I have even less time for gw2 :/

So the thing is, my current job is full time and i get a regular salary. But my employer gets half of my salary from the government. So i get paid half from employer and rest from government. This is until december where i'll be a full employee. But since the government pays half my salary, i still count as getting financial help. Back in april they made a new rule saying that people on financial help need to work at least 225 hours a year to not lose some of the financial help. But since it's a new rule, the first time is only 113 hours till october 1. They believe this will improve ones chances at getting a job. And for some reason my 37 hours a week doesn't count since it's still partly financial help. So they want me to work 113 hours extra to fullfill the requirements, because they believe that will increase my odds of getting a job...
Holy crap, the house next to my parents burned to the ground today, and I arrived (by chance) to the scene before the firefighters. Another neighbour had already called at that point (I did not know, at the time, and was about to call as I heard the sirens), but discovering that the house was on fire... Scary experience. The house is now completely gone (save for a few pieces that are still burning). No human was hurt, thankfully.
